Every week Ailsa of Where’s My Backpack offers a wonderful challenge for bloggers, a theme to challenge photographers.

If you’re ready to open some doors and would like to join in this week’s travel theme (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:

If you’re ever in Beijing, or anywhere in China — get glasses. Either bring your prescription or take an eye exam here. Progressive bifocals are $50 and single vision can be $9 – 20.

Here you see sunglasses and the tools of the trade, but the shop has hundreds of frames to choose from. The longest wait if 2 hours to get complicated glasses made.

Mid-Autumn Festival

Mid-Autumn Festival in China means mooncakes, exchanged and eaten or regifted. I got a couple from my school. Since I learned they’re 1000 calories, more or less, I’ve given mine away to the homeless. Above there are gift bags full of sets of mooncakes.
