Southwest of Tiananmen Square (nearest subway station – Hepingmen) is a traditional neighborhood, much of which has been restored. There you’ll find a block or two dedicated to selling traditional instruments. If you’re lucky, you’ll hear some musicians playing.

In April City Daily Photo bloggers are challenged to share photos of “One Color.” I’m not sure what to call this color. Before cooking, the pumpkin was orange and now it’s more brown, but not exactly brown. I guess it’s golden orange.

Can’t believe I’ve never been to the Bell Tower, which rang out the hours of the day for Beijingers as far back as the 13th century. I really like the plaza out front and the walk up the street towards the tower.
