CDP Theme Day: August

street guys chess

August’s City Daily Photo Theme is City People and these men exemplify people in the summer.

  1. This photo shows how people gather on the streets no matter the season
  2. It shows people playing a game outside. Here they’re playing Chinese chess.
  3. Summer isn’t complete in China without at least one shirtless man. Often you’ll see middle aged men with their shirts rolled up and their bellies on view.

This entry marks my swan song for new entries as I’ve used up all the free space for WordPress. Occasionally, I may repost a golden oldie for a blogging challenge.

See No Fixed Plans or Ruined for Life for more of my photos. Some are of China, others aren’t. No Fixed Plans has been rather neglected. Expect lots of photos of Asia.

CDP Theme Day: Yellow

Lemon Squares at Sofitel

A second entry of yellow for April’s City Daily Photo Theme Day. Yellow’s just the color for the month that goes from gray and glooming to the colors of spring.

Don’t these tiny lemon cakes look yummy?

Theme Day: Music

August’s theme for City Daily Photo is music. You can see more musical interpretations by clicking here.

Southwest of Tiananmen Square (nearest subway station – Hepingmen) is a traditional neighborhood, much of which has been restored. There you’ll find a block or two dedicated to selling traditional instruments. If you’re lucky, you’ll hear some musicians playing.

My delightful friend Lolita

In May City Daily Photo bloggers are challenged to share photos of “Laughter.” Above I’m sharing a photo of my cheerful, laughing friend Lolita. How lucky I am to have such a creative, positive friend.

April Theme Day: All One Color

Buddha

In April City Daily Photo bloggers are challenged to share photos of “One Color.” I’m not sure what to call this color. Before cooking, the pumpkin was orange and now it’s more brown, but not exactly brown. I guess it’s golden orange.

March Theme Day: Where I Belong

In Sugar & Spice café

This March City Daily Photo bloggers are asked to ponder and post on the idea of “Where do I belong?” Even though last month’s prompt was “Coffee House” I will say I feel quite at home in a not too noisy coffee house sipping a hot drink and writing. That’s the life!
