A Dragon, in Foshan
I apologize that this dragon is in Foshan, Guangdong province. I can’t find a photo of one in Beijing. Believe it or not. I’ll have to go through old Flickr photos. But I wanted a dragon in the blog this week.
Dragon - Pingyao
I saw this dragon in Pingyao, not Beijing. Pingyao is west of Beijing. It’s a historic city with lots of character. A former banking center, Pingyao-ites take pride in their city’s Qing era architecture, which fills its beautiful city center.
Chinese New Year is nothing like the Western one. It’s called Spring Festival in Mandarin and it’s a time to return to your home town, celebrate family and honor the ancestors.
Here comes the Year of the Dragon
Tomorrow is the first day of the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar.
