August Theme Day: Numbers

August’s theme for the City Daily Photo (CDP) is numbers. Above are a dozen old coins for sale at a temple. The coins have a value and place a numerical value on goods, a literal example of how we use numbers day in day out.

The City Daily Photo blog is experiencing some technical difficulties and until it’s up and running this network is using their Facebook page to show the CDP August  entries for the theme from all over the world.

The Pearl Market should be on the list of all stops during a visit to Beijing. I think it’s more fun than the Silk Market that’s gotten too aggressive and congested. Of course, you’ll find pearls and jade, but you can also by sunglasses, purses, luggage, software and electronics.

The best time to go is during the week early in the day.
